Urban Framed is more than a brand — it’s a continuation of a legacy that began in 1930 with Barki Optics, founded by Elle Barki in the heart of Downtown Cairo. As the first and only licensed optician in Egypt at the time, Elle Barki introduced generations of Egyptians to quality, authentic eyewear — and built a name based on trust, craftsmanship, and timeless design.

Nearly a century later, Urban Framed was born out of that same spirit, founded by three brothers — the third generation of the Barki family. As lifelong collectors and passionate vintage eyewear enthusiasts, they shared a vision: to bring back the golden age of eyewear, one rare piece at a time.

In a world flooded with replicas and counterfeits, especially in Egypt, Urban Framed was created to offer something real — a curated collection of 100% authentic, unsold vintage sunglasses from the 1980s, 1990s, and beyond.
